Introduction
This course provides a comprehensive overview of the upstream oil and gas facilities associated with offshore developments, from shallow to ultra-deepwater depths, including subsea and FPSOs and how they are integrated into full field developments from the wellbore to product export and delivery. All the major components of such developments will be considered and the effect that varying water depth has on choosing the right concept. A review of the key oil and gas processing requirements based on end-user specifications will be covered as well as the effects that fluid contaminants such as wax, asphaltenes, H2S and CO2 can have on the processing and development configurations and project costs.
The key stages from the project idea, through exploration, development, production and abandonment will be covered in detail. This will include field development planning and associated lifecycle cost estimates and schedules required to produce the investment profile, which is the key input for project economic evaluation.
The course will be accessible to all people as there will be an emphasis to demystify the terminology and nomenclature used within the industry.
Objectives
- To gain a comprehensive overview of the upstream oil and gas facilities associated with onshore, offshore, shallow to ultradeep water depths, FPSO and subsea developments
- To understand how the different components are integrated into full field developments from the wellbore to product export and delivery
- To review the key oil and gas processing requirements based on end-user specifications and the effects that fluid contaminants such as wax, asphaltenes, H2S and CO2 can have on the processing and development configurations and project costs
- To understand the key stages from project idea, through exploration, development, production and abandonment
- To gain an understanding of field development planning and associated lifecycle cost estimates and schedules required to produce the investment profile, which is the key input for project economic evaluation
- To understand the nomenclature and terminology used in the industry
Training Methodology
This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practice. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.
