Mobile Broadband Transformation Training Bootcamp

Introduction

Mobile broadband is associated with wireless internet access, delivered through mobile phone towers to computers, mobile phones, and other digital devices. It is estimated that every decade (i.e. 10 years), new mobile technology becomes available. Not only does this go hand in hand with new infrastructure, but it also encompasses the nature of service, compatibility, peak data rates, new frequency bands, etc. Each transition is referred to as a generation. This Bootcamp takes delegates on an informative journey, moving through from the first mobile data services (second generation) to the latest 5G deployment, whilst covering everything in between.

This training course will feature:

  • Broadband evolution and transformation
  • Discuss architectural aspects, transport and core networks
  • Discuss assorted benefits and services (including Proximity services and the Internet of Things)
  • Discuss LTE
  • Discuss an assortment of services, currently utilized, and understand 5G deployment options

Objectives

By the end of this training course, participants will learn to:

    • Understand the next generation system architecture
    • Reflect on 3GPP enhancements and the way forward to newer technology
    • Understand the pros and cons of LTE-Wifi Radio Level Aggregation
    • Appreciate applicable broadcast and multicast techniques
    • Understand eMTC and architecture enhancements

Training Methodology

This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practice. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.

Who Should Attend?

This training course has been designed to provide a general overview and would be well suited to anyone that has an interest in this form of data transmission.
