Introduction
This training provides business continuity professionals with the necessary skills to perform first, second and third-party audits for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) to the requirements of ISO 22301. This course is ideal for existing BS 25999 Lead Auditors, as it combines the ‘Business Continuity Management Systems Transition Course from BS 25999 to ISO 22301’ with an additional day of ISO 22301 auditing exercises. Led by an experienced instructor, you will learn how ISO 22301:2012 ‘Business Continuity Management Systems - Requirements’ differs from BS 25999-2 and then apply this knowledge practically in order to build your ISO 22301 auditing skill.
Objectives
- Describe the purpose of a BCMS including the principles, processes, and techniques used for the management and assessment of a BCM system
- Explain the purpose and content of ISO 22301
- Explain the role of a BCMS auditor to plan, conduct, report, and follow up a BCMS audit in accordance with ISO 19011
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the ISO 22301 audit and certification process
- Have the skills and knowledge needed to plan, conduct, report, and follow-up third party audits against the requirements of ISO 22301 in accordance with ISO 19011
- Interpret the requirements of ISO 22301 in the context of a BCMS audit
- Describe the new high-level structure of ISO 22301 and what this means for an organization’s BCMS
- Explain the requirements of ISO 22301:2012
- Recognize the differences between BS 25999-2 and ISO 22301:2012
- Explain the approach to risk that ISO 22301 has now adopted
- Identify the processes now required for an organization’s BCMS
- Be able to plan and lead an audit to ISO 22301

Training Methodology
This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practices. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.
