Environmental Hazard Awareness

Introduction

With the growing concern in regards to preserving our natural resources, it has become necessary to educate employees on the impact they have on our environment. Employers now have a responsibility to comply with environmental regulations as well as provide training in the recognition of environmental hazards to their employees. The following course outline is designed to make employees aware of their environmental responsibilities.

    • Why employees are critical to an environmental awareness program.

Training Methodology

This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practice. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.

  • EPA (US government agency responsible for establishing environmental standards and coordinating clean-up efforts).
  • Fundamental environmental laws.

Non-Compliance

  • Activities that are considered to be more compliant with environmental laws.
  • Who is liable for criminal prosecution for non-compliance with environmental laws.
  • Consequences for non-compliance with environmental laws.

Ways to Comply

  • What to do when an environmental hazard is discovered in the workplace.
  • Employee work practices that can improve or protect the environment.
