Ammonia Refrigeration System Specific To Ammonia Plant

Introduction

The course has been made to guide employers and workers in understanding and controlling dangers associated with the maintenance and operation of ammonia refrigeration systems. The syllabus includes Ammonia Receiving and Storage, Emergency Response, safety procedures and safe handling practice modules.

Objectives

    Ammonia in gaseous and liquid form can be dangerous when workers in refrigeration facilities get accidental exposure leading to life threatening injuries. Extra care needs to be taken while handling high pressured refrigeration systems to prevent accidental release or leakage of Ammonia which can cause potentially catastrophic consequences. Refrigeration systems containing 10,000 pounds or more of ammonia are generally operated in covered environment following prescribed Process Safety Management Standards.

Training Methodology

This training course will utilize a variety of proven adult learning techniques to ensure maximum understanding, comprehension, and retention of the information presented during the five days. It will employ active-learning techniques, group discussion, and quizzes to enhance the training course session. Who Should Attend?

As per OSHA 29 CFR § 1910.119 (g) (1), every worker handling operational process, those who are deployed to handle refrigeration system, people who are assigned special task to assist refrigeration workers and workplace managers should be trained to understand the safety process, emergency management and compliant procedures.
