Introduction
This 5-day course is an extensive review of the new and growing discipline of offshore Decommissioning & Abandonment. The course introduces the complex cross-disciple nature of offshore Decommissioning & Abandonment. Decommissioning offshore Oil and Gas installations are an inevitable part of the ‘Life of Field’ activities. It carries a multibillion-dollar cost with no return. This training course is essential to all those involved in decommissioning and those who need to be aware of their obligations/liabilities to decommissioning and how best to manage them such that opportunities can be realized, and overall costs reduced.
This training course will provide delegates with a detailed awareness and understanding of all aspects of offshore decommissioning from ‘late-life operations’ through planning, estimating, preparation, execution, and closeout. A key learning point for delegates will be the opportunity to take part in ‘real-life’ exercises related to decommissioning of a typical offshore asset.
This training course will highlight:
- Engage in a thorough analysis of decommissioning & abandonment matters in oil and gas contracts with a view to avoiding future pitfalls.
- A detailed understanding of all aspects of decommissioning
- A unique learning experience through ‘real-life’ decommissioning related exercises and case studies
- Interaction with other professionals
Objectives
- Plan and execute decommissioning strategies
- Develop scopes for the various phases of decommissioning
- Evaluate decommissioning options
- Identify and manage decommissioning interphases
- Produce a Decommissioning Program
- Opportunity to see how decommissioning challenges are managed internationally
- Opportunity to see and discuss future changes and technologies for decommissioning
- ILLUSTRATE the 7 major project tasks of decommissioning & abandonment and challenges of platform decommissioning.
- PROVIDE expert insight to decommissioning & abandonment of offshore facilities and installations
- UNDERSTAND current technical, social, and environmental risks associated with decommissioning & abandonment.
- ENABLE design of a comprehensive decommissioning policy for your organizations
- PROVIDE the knowledge and skills for effective and efficient decommissioning & abandonment, operation in their maturing provinces.
- REVIEW of decommissioning & abandonment project plan costs and timeline.
- ADDRESS applicable international and national regulations.
- DISCUSS important near and long term environmental impact in decommissioning & abandonment of offshore installation.
- INTRODUCE global decommissioning & abandonment projects plans and execution.
By the end of this training course, participants will learn to:
Training Methodology
This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practice. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.
